Sex and Love, it's pretty self explanitory :)
There are a lot of incredible products and services on the market these days that allow individuals to take their wireless devices on the go with them just about anywhere. One new device that is out there on the market is called the Droid. This device is developed to create a wireless hot spot anywhere that you set it up for making use of internet ready devices online. It's the equivalent of a router which is completely wireless.
On the commercial they show the Droid device and a whole bunch of college students sitting around the college campus on benches all using devices with a droid set up between them. While this may possibly seem like a cute idea the real question about this device is what's the purpose? I mean if there are so many other ways to grab an internet signal and chances are if you happen to be on a college campus there most likely is already a signal that you can easily access there.
Even if you can'tuncover a wireless hotspot for your device the cost of wireless internet access cards are so cheap that it is unreasonable to think that someone needs to set up hot spots instead of purchasing a wireless internet access card which they possibly already have anyway because they are college students and they probably utilize this device in their dorm rooms as well so you best believe that they all probably already have wireless internet access cards for their laptops and internet access for their other devices as well.
Now perhaps a droid might serve a purpose in a college dorm room where two roommates could share it and put all their devices online through one connection however even in this case it seems rather bizarre since a wireless router would offer them the same service. Maybe if you wanted to carry the droid around with you everywhere you go then perhaps it would save you money because instead of having to get a wireless internet access card and wireless router you could just use this droid. Personally however, it seems like a lot of work for nothing.
Truthfully there are so many superior methods of connecting to the internet that it makes you wonder why anyone would have even thought of this inferior idea in the first place. Surely some people are buying this device but seriously my question is why?
