How to Make a Marriage Work

By : Stacey Thompson Geer

All kinds of people get married every day, but not all of them know how to keep the passion going for many years to come. It’s not as hard as they may think and it can be done so that the marriage is one that stays strong for a long time.

Touchy Feely
The first thing that anyone who wants to keep the passion alive is going to need to do is to touch each other. They should hold hands and hug often to show that they are still in love with the other person, even if they have been together for a long time. Kissing is also another way to touch and show that they are in love with the other person.

Do Something Nice
The next thing that they will want to do is something nice and from the heart for the person that they love. This may be as simple as making a nice meal or running a bath for them when they get home from work. Little things can mean a lot to those that need to keep the love going. Another great idea is to go out on a date. Find a babysitter and see a great movie or go out to eat at a fancy restaurant in the area.

Leave a Note
Another small thing that can be done is to leave a note on the car or in the bed or somewhere that makes the other person think of them. This way they will be making an impact on their regular lives while they are telling them that they love them. They may also send flowers with a personal note enclosed with it so that they can really see how much they are loved.

Cuddle
This kind of goes along with touching, but when couples cuddle they are touching and that alone can be a huge show that they are loved by the other person. Cuddle when watching a movie or when it’s cold outside. That way there is a good reason to be so close and it shows the love that is there.
Keeping a marriage going can be a huge challenge but it also can be great for anyone that wants to take the time to do it. It can also help the marriage that may be losing steam and falling apart. Take the time to find the right things to do and it will make a difference in anyone’s marriage.
